:iconamemusashi: who is like... the QUEEN of TMNT fanfiction recently put up some of her scraps and offered them to the masses for colouring. Seeing as I worship her fanfiction (specifically "Stoned" and of course the monolithic "The Fallen") I couldn't pass up the oppertunity. I wanted to colour another image she offered up for colouring, but I had not seen the episode where it comes from and didn't want to make silly mistakes like miscolouring certain things and stuff. So for now this is the only one 8D ...maybe.... I might pick up another one she has for colouring if I get bored but am too lazy to draw XDD

Mikey + Klunk = Double potency of AWESOME :iconftwplz:

I tried my hand at Dappled lighting. I dunno how successful it was 8(

I imagine they're on the farm in this picture, Mikey likes to walk in the woods when they're there it seems XD

I hope she likes what I did to her picture 8D;;

She is an excellent author! But I do believe you've complimented her drawing wonderfully. :)

:excited: :heart: EEEEEeee! I don't know what I like better, the skin tones, the shading, or the tree! :XD: :laughing: :love: but for now, I'll vote for the tree, the way you did the bark and leaves is do pretty~ <3

Seriously, girl, you blew me away with this one! XD I love the summer feel and gentleness you portrayed with the color scheme, it fits the moment better than I would have been able to show, if I had colored it myself!

Wowww! That's wonderful coloring! The colors are so rich and warm... mmmm. :love: And the dappled lighting makes it all the more interesting. What technique are you using to make that kind of ...uh... fragmented painting, you know, not smooth? (I'm so bad at expressing myself. ^^;) What is your brush? It's really pretty. :aww:

:iconc-puff:
XD;; It's a pretty crazy way of colouring. I should do a tutorial if you want a proper run-through. But It's not actually any special brush at all. It's actually just the normal basic brush in photoshop, but I put the opacity down to 19% and the flow down to 49%. Then what I do is I start with a darker gray (Just below mid-gray) and paint the whole picture in black and white first. Then afterwards I put a layer over top of it, set it to "overlay" and throw the flat colours over the shading. Then I take this flat colour layer, take a soft edged brush, set the flow to 100% again and use a different colour that I want for the shadows and just add that in very loosely and then do the same for the highlights. I should do a proper tutorial to explain better XD;; but what I used to understand this technique is these three tutorials more than anything else [link] [link] and [link]
hope that helps at all 8D;;

Just as Swordsmanship is more than fighting, art is more than drawing. The field would be richer if more artists embraced this lesson
