Hey! Here is the first page! Finally finished! I have never done a comic like this before so I would really REALLY appreciate any pointers or observations you guys make will be extremely appreciated. Also, please let me know about the font I used and if it's difficult to read or not. This comic is gonna be a little talky which I know isn't really the best way to make a comic, but I promise it does have a reason for being a comic and not a fic. Originally the line "Let me tell you a story" was not going to be included, heck I only realised while I was drawing the second last page that the intro panel was SCREAMING for the line to be added. For those who don't know, A lot (if not all, I'm not sure) of the "Tales of the TMNT" comics start with a splash page with one of the characters giving an intro to the story that's about to follow and end with the line "Let me tell you a story..." Kinda like the 2k3 cartoon, but the cartoon doesn't have the line in it. Also, I want to give a big thank you to for a VERY long time I was considering abandoning this project because I highly doubted any-one would like it. Arwing took a look at the thumbnails and encouraged me to keep going and that is really the only reason this ever saw the light of day. I went with the title "Orphans and Foundlings" eventually because people were saying the title should be simplistic yet meaningful and reflect exactly what the story is about.. and the story is about Splinter and his sons. Prologue Page is Prologuey. Sorry not much happens in this page. The next one is better TMNT is (c) Mirage The TMNT Font is (c) Maple or Lionsgate, I dunno Fonts downloaded from [link] Please don't steal! :c AND PLEASE DON'T COLOUR!! I love my black and white comics. They're the best kind of comics there is, so no colour pls. CommentsOkay.... fangirl moment has passed... for now. I can't really say what I like the best, but the thick black framing does very well for focusing the reader's attention on the story. Overall a very nice job. *grabs Splinter's stick and threatens to start wacking artists* AND YOU WERE WORRIED ABOUT THIS?!?! *returns to fangirlish behavior* -- Hello, my name is 54viruses. I am addicted to literature. It has been eleven hours since I last read or wrote...oh, wait...shoot, better luck next time. AWESOME! Can't wait to see what happen next
-- Even if you were to die, it won't bring anyone else back. Instead of hurting yourself, helping other people is the best way to make up for your mistake. That what he will do. You can always die. It's living that take courage-Don't knowhere I got it Oh wonderful! I really love the way the comic is set up and the story seems interesting so far. I love how adorable the turtle tots look and I can't wait for more! <3
-- What I love most about... Sladin-Slade and Robin's relationship Clex-they're destined to fail but they still hope TMNT-four brothers with so many ships Slash-includes all my fandoms A comic? O_O Awesome! You just made my day!
*glomps* I can't wait for more. The font is nice, I like it. It's simple and clean. The only thing I can think of is that you capitalize the "I" from now on. That way it's right. ~_^ Aww..the sleeping turtles are so cuuute! *happy fangirl sigh* -- "Everything I do, I do for a reason." Again, I'm not into TMNT, and you've drawn me in with the promise of an interesting story.
-- Christ in the hearts of all who think of me Christ on the lips of all who speak of me Christ in the eyes of all who see me Make me your instrument Lord Moderating: ~Trich-club XD The font's "I"s can't be capitalised (which is weird but alrighty 8D) but I agree, if I could I would XD. I'm glad to hear it's clean and readable because I really wanted to use a font with a slight easter style to it but I didn't want it to be hard to read.
Anyway thank you so much 8D -- Just as Swordsmanship is more than fighting, art is more than drawing. The field would be richer if more artists embraced this lesson --Robert Asprin Do what you like and do it honestly --Angels and Airwaves |
