Lightning Dust!
Because sometimes, you just had a dream that you just wanted SO BADLY that it ended up blinding you a little bit.
I stand firmly by my opinion that Dusty is NOT a bad pony. Reckless, over-enthusiastic and with a bad case of tunnel vision perhaps (in fact, more than likely) but I can at least understand her motivations.
Imagine dreaming about being a Wonderbolt your entire life, and then just being ONE step away from achieving it. Wouldn't you try and push just that little bit harder in the end to make sure you suceed? Sometimes, you end up pushing too hard. That doesn't make what you do right or automatically forgives bad behaviour, but it shouldn't brand you as being a bad person.
Get up, dust yourself off, learn, mature, and then walk away a little wiser, knowing that you CAN make that dream, but you shouldn't lose yourself while doing it.
*shrugs* or whatever.
I like Lightning Dust. I really... REALLY hope Spitfire gave her a second chance and didn't just expell her. That's not what she needs and it won't help her grow up a little bit.
*gets off soapbox*
...I have no idea what she's doing here, but in my head I like to think she's doing cloud canon-balls from the ground.... because wouldn't you?
I hesitate to call this a 'quick drawing' but it is kinda.

Honestly, I could see a redemption arc for her. I even got a concept: Rainbow Dash saying the typical encouraging stuff to some random fan after a Wonderbolts performance, who turns out to be related to Lightning Dust, who's with them. RD is a bit hesitant at first, but figures that Gilda turned out cool, she might as well give Lightning a second chance as well, only it turns out she's really down in the dumps, probably working as a waitress at a café or something. Flashback to why LD wanted to be a wonderbolt, probably got some encouraging words about pushing your limits no matter what from a senior wonderbolt (Wind Rider?) when she was a filly, que teary eyes. Ends up with RD pulling some strings to get her into the academy
