Disney Ducks

A few days ago I mentioned in my journal that I really suck at drawing Disney ducks. Like.. a LOT. And I said how, as a big fan of duck comics, that's a little unacceptable
So I decided to do some studies of Darkwing and Donald to try and get a grip on how the heck their heads and bodies work. I did some basic Donald construction drawings but I decided to try and focus on their faces first. Especially since duck eyes are one part that I always get tripped up on.

I actually drew the Darkwings first, but I somehow also had an easier time with him than Anders And over there. I think it's because Darkwing's facial structure can be slightly altered and still look relatively on-model. But Donald's facial proportions are so exact that even if you draw them slightly off it's immediately visible.

These expressions are all referenced from official model sheets. The next step is drawing my own expressions That's gonna be.. ....really hard.

FUN FACT!! Donald is the only Classic Disney character who has an official Middle name. His full name is Donald Fauntleroy Duck.
...So.. ..now you know. 8D (The amount of useless Duck knowledge I have is astounding.)
